Performance was reminiscent of his early United days. Valencia - 5 Seems to have regressed after a fine start, hitting the first man with regularity. United had problems on the right and Valencia could not solve them. Smalling - 5 Never truly recovered from his early gaffe with De Gea. Started over Daley Blind due to his height. If only he had Blind's coolness. Bailly - 5 Looked the more experienced Premier League player than Smalling but capitulated amid Watford's aerial bombardment and physicality. Shaw - 6 A couple of lapses but solid mainly and offered more going forward than Valencia on the other flank. and those ahead of him on the wing. Fellaini - 5 Put himself about but struggled to control the game and was often sloppy on the ball. Michael Carrick could return next week. Pogba - 5 Endeavoured to turn the tide in United's favour and smacked the crossbar at 0-0. Became irascible in the second-half when United needed a cooler head.
