Mets GM Sandy Alderson to take a leave of absence to address cancer return
梅子總管Alderson因癌症復發請假
New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson is taking a leave of absence to
address his personal health, effective immediately, the Mets announced
Tuesday.
紐約梅子隊星期二宣布，總管Alderson即日起因為健康因素開始請假。
Alderson, 70, described the "recurrence of cancer" as the main reason for his
decision to leave.
70歲的Alderson說是因為癌症復發的因素決定請假。
"My health is an uncertainty going forward. Based on the merits, I'm not sure
if coming back is warranted," Alderson said.
「我的健康狀況不是很穩定，所以基於實際狀況，我不確定我還會不會回來，」Alderson
說。
In December 2015, Alderson missed baseball's winter meetings to begin an
eight-to-12-week chemotherapy treatment for what the club described as a
"treatable" form of cancer. He said he will have surgery later this summer.
2015年12月，Alderson就因為需要接受8-12周的化學治療而請假，球團那時候說Alderson
的癌症是屬於"可治療"的。他說今年夏天他會接受手術。
John Ricco, J.P. Ricciardi and Omar Minaya will share the role in his
absence.
Ricco，Ricciardi跟Minaya會共同負擔Alderson不在時的工作。
Alderson was hired after the 2010 season to replace Minaya. Since then, the
Mets are 582-628, including two postseason appearances along with an NL East
title and World Series appearance in 2015.
Alderson是在2010球季時被聘，取代原本的Minaya。從那時起，梅子的戰績是582-628，有
兩次打入季後賽，2015那年拿到國東冠軍，一路打到世界大賽。
The 2018 campaign got off to a great start with new manager Mickey Calloway.
But since an 11-1 start, the Mets have been on a downward spiral, posting a
20-44 since then and have fallen from first place to second to fourth in a
matter of 10 weeks in the National League East.
2018年球季梅子聘了新教練Mickey Calloway，一開季戰績不錯。但是自從11-1開季後，梅
子開始向下沉淪，戰績是20-44，在國東10周內從第一位一路下滑到第四位。
