Morosi reports that the Royals are nearing an agreement on a one-year major league contract with Melky Cabrera. ESPNDeportes' Enrique Rojas adds (via Twitter) that the deal is for $1.25MM, with $250K in incentives. Cabrera, who earned $3.1MM in 2010, was released by the Braves following a disappointing campaign in which he hit just .255/.317/.354 in 509 plate appearances.
