The two were seen sharing a hearty laugh, and the wife of Nick Cannon honoured Patti with the Living Legend gong. Contrasting with the One Sweet Day songstress, Patti was clad in an embroidered silver jacket over a grey blouse and matching trousers, which were spruced up with a pair of neon yellow pumps. The event was held to honour powerful black women in the entertainment industry and beyond, hence the title 'Black Girls Rock.' Also at the star-studded ceremony was Queen Latifah, who was awarded the Rock Star award, as well as Jennifer Hudson, Michelle Williams, La La Anthony, Venus Williams and rapper Eve.
