Former Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has announced his retirement from
football at the age of 31.
31歲的前利物浦後衛Daniel Agger宣布他將要退休。
The Dane spent eight and a half years at Anfield between 2006 and 2014 after
leaving boyhood club Brondby to join up with Rafael Benitez's squad.
丹麥人在離開兒時以來效力的布隆德比俱樂部並加入Rafael Benitez的麾下之後，
從2006年~2014年在安菲爾德貢獻了8年半。
He played 232 times for the club in total and earned a League Cup winners'
medal in 2012, though his tally of appearances and trophies may have been
higher were it not for a series of unfortunate injury problems.
他總共為球隊出賽232場並在2012年獲得一個聯賽杯冠軍，要不是一系列的傷病問題，
他的出場和榮譽可能會更多。
Regardless, he remains a popular figure among supporters, not least because
of the tattoo of 'YNWA' famously scrawled across his knuckles.

Agger returned to Brondby in 2014 but, after two years back with the Danish
Superliga club, he has now elected to call time on his playing career.

He confirmed his decision in a tweet which read: "Thank you for your support.
A great experience. It's sad, but it is the right decision to stop. I'm proud
of my career."

Agger amassed 71 Denmark caps over the course of his 11 years as a senior
international.
