Jermaine Pennant has joined Spanish club Real Zaragoza after being released
by Liverpool earlier this summer.
The 26-year-old signed a three-year deal following a medical, becoming the
newly-promoted La Liga outfit's first summer signing.
"I wanted to come to Spain and I had offers from important teams in Europe,
but joined Real Zaragoza," Pennant told Zaragoza's official website.
"I really want to get started and do well in the league."
The wide man scored three goals in 81 appearances after joining Liverpool
from Birmingham in 2006.
Approaching the end of his contract, he spent the latter half of last season
on loan at Portsmouth.
