From Skysports Le Tallec joins Sochaux Sochaux have finally tied up the loan signing of Liverpool attacker Anthony Le Tallec. The France Under-21 international has been lined up for a return to his homeland for much of the summer. He had been in negotiations with Sochaux, but a deal to link up with Alain Perrin's side appeared to collapse earlier this month. However, Perrin's persistence has now paid off, with Sochaux confirming the season-long loan arrival of the 21-year-old. The Ligue 1 outfit also have the option to buy Le Tallec at the end of the season, if he impresses over the coming months. Le Tallec spent last season on loan at Sunderland, but was unable to keep the club in The Premiership. He undertook a loan stint at St Etienne during the first half of the 2004/05 campaign and has been unable to make an impact at Liverpool under Rafa Benitez. It appears any prospect of forging a career at Anfield has now evaporated completely with Le Tallec accepting the move to Sochaux. The forward is now hoping to catch the eye of France boss Raymond Domenech after returning to his home country. "Sochaux is an ideal club for me, it will allow me to grow and develop as a football player," Le Tallec told the club's official website. "I am eager to grow with Sochaux. "I have experienced a lot of things for a guy of my age and I believe I have gained mental strength from that. "I hope I will soon play with France's Under-21 team again, but I am also hoping to be called up by France at some point.
