轉自LFCONLINE之Forum When watching Valencia I always made the observation that they were the side Houllier was trying to make. Well now that Rafa is here what has he brought to us from that fantastic Valencia side. Rafa had Albelda as his lynchpin and if there is one player in the world I would want to replace Hamann hes the man. Having said that I was very impressed with Sissoko when I saw him at Valencia and although ruff around the edges he has ridiculous potential as we will come to see. The thing that was blatently missing from Liverpool was wing play where as Valencia always had width and were a great counter attacking side due to it. Vicente and Rufete amoung others. Rafa I think sees Gonzales as his Vicente for Liverpool and I am pleased to see him bringing in a young wide player who plays as a winger and has so much obvious potential. We still need a right winger as Rafa himself alludes to. Valencia could also play through the middle though thanks to players with good vision skill and great passing ability, this is the most obvious comparrison, Baraja was there Gerrard hardworking always driving forward scored goals from midfield . We don't have an Aimar but we do have a Xabi to unlock defences, maybe not the same player but just as effective. Upfront was where Valencia struggled at times (before Rafa turned Mista into a striker) but they played so well as a team it really wasnt that obvious. They didnt have a prolific striker, there was Carew who got a few goals but was more a target man to hold the ball up slow the play down and bring other in to the game. Oh look weve just signed Peter Crouch who does ? Thats right all of those things, however he will also bang in a few goals. I think he bought Morientes to do this but it didn't really work out and Morientes really needs to start playing football and quick. So to sum personally I believe we are building a side similar to that of Valencias under Rafa. It may take time but were on the right track and we have the right man for the job. Wingers are the missing piece and a cb to replace Hyypia wouldnt go a miss.
