The determiner "any" is subject to the following restriction:
Any must be preceded and c-commaned by a negative.
Show how a restriction such as the rule stated above would account
for the (un)grammaticality of existential "any" in the bracketed NP's
in the following examples: (10分)
A. ﹝The lack of any discipline in some institutions﹞worried them.
B. *﹝The lack of discipline in any institutions﹞worried them.
