Did the Pacers convince the Lakers to send Brian Cook instead of Medvedenko? Expect the deal within a day or two of draft day, although it may not be triggered until June 28." Is this true and this does not sound like a good deal at all for the Pacers as both Devean George and Slava Medvedenko are both unproven talents compared to a first-round pick and Bender? (From John in Indianapolis) A. The story is not accurate. Franchise CEO Donnie Walsh was unequivocal in his dismissal of that particular trade report. No such discussions are taking place, and there's nothing on the table with the Lakers. Though Bender has gone through two nightmarish years with injuries, there's little reason for the Pacers to trade him because there is little to gain by doing so. Bender's trade value is minimal because of his history of injuries. The franchise has invested quite a bit of time (and money) in Bender, to that point that it would be counterproductive to give up on him now. Whatever the odds Bender will find a way to get healthy, stay healthy and become a productive NBA player, the Pacers are willing to stay in the game and keep rolling the dice because they know the potential payoff is worth the risk. ============================================================================= 另外,這則消息是"否認澄清"或是"官法說法",目前不到最後還不能斷定. 也許交易已經失敗,但也可能只是溜馬高層放出的煙霧彈,Walsh & Bird 都是煙霧彈高手,他們挺善於製造假象.至於www.hoopsworld.com的作者 仍然相信這是會完成的交易,他說那只是個煙霧彈,當然誰知道他是不是 虎濫. 至於Walsh他們放煙霧彈是有前例可循的.2002年2月18日他們否認任何有交 易Jalen Rose的可能,儘管那時公牛的媒體都透露消息說這是個完成的交易. 結果2002年2月19日他就穿起公牛制服了. 另外最近的一個例子,爵士隊的Arroyo,當時爵士隊聲明 "Arroyo will be a JAZZ for a LONG TIME",結果Long Time只有"兩天"那麼長 總之,我們看看就好,不需要對Romur有太多的期待,Rumors不是News.只是這些 Rumors可以帶給我們一些在Offseason的對球隊的關注. --
