Last week, The Post reported tension between the two coaches throughout the on-court flop of Westchester’s debut season, and Phil Jackson’s man won out in Hodges, who won two titles with Jackson’s Bulls and another two as his Lakers assistant. Whitted, a first-year coach, was hired by Houston, his former Tennessee teammate. Houston serves as Westchester’s GM, having some of his big-club duties scaled back after Jackson took over. The Westchester Knicks also ran the triangle offense with little success and have the second-worst record (10-36) in the D-League in their inaugural season, despite glowing attendance figures entering Monday’s matchup against Grand Rapids. Hodges, 54, is a Jackson disciple and former 3-point shooting great.
