National League manager Charlie Manuel named the Los Angeles left-hander to the squad on Sunday as Heyward's replacement after the Braves' rookie announced his thumb injury would prevent him from making the start. Manuel actually first extended the honor to Heyward's teammate, veteran closer Billy Wagner, who turned down the opportunity, opting for a chance to rest his sore ankle. The Brewers' Corey Hart will start in Heyward's place. Kuo, currently is 3-1 with a 1.03 ERA, has been a strong force out of the Dodgers' bullpen for manager Joe Torre this season, mostly because of his unique tools. "You look around the league, you don't see lefties throwing 95-plus," said Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis. "It's just an uncomfortable at-bat."
