lousy economy and lagging ticket sales – a critical source of revenue for
small-market franchises. Asked about this later Thursday, Kings co-owner Joe
Maloof said financial considerations will be a factor, but not the
determinant; the stature of the coach will set the price.

"Every team is evaluating their business practices," he said, "but just
because you cut one area doesn't mean you won't spend in another. We've
always said, 'If we have a chance to win a championship, we'll spend the
money.' And we did. We had one of the highest payrolls in the league. Now, if
we have a chance to pounce, to jump on something special that makes sense,
gets us out of the cellar and back on the right track, we'll do it. Whatever
Geoff thinks. Fans are tired of all these (unproven) coaches. We want to
start winning again."
「每個球隊都在精打細算，但就算你在這個地方省下來了，還是會在別地方花出去啊，如
果有機會贏得總冠軍，那我們就會花錢。過去就是這樣，我們的薪資總額可是最高的其中
