New push to put HK film industry on top in region
Bid to revive 'Hollywood of Orient'

The council(HK Film Development Council) also plans an overall review of the
Film Development Fund's functions early next year.Since October last year, 13
applications for film-project funding had been received and seven approved. Mr
Fung said the council was happy to see a variety of projects seeking funding,
ranging from romance to animation and action. He said several film projects
were helmed by first-time directors.
