It’s the first taste from their upcoming full-length collab SOUTHSIDE coming later this year. The string-laden, pop/hip-hop/rock cut is another example of Raz’s unique style and uncanny ability to blend genres with ease. It’s no surprise Raz is this talented. He sits on 300 Entertainment’s throne as Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles’ very first signee. Like his labelmates Fetty Wap and Young Thug, Raz has mastered his own infectious sing-song harmonic cadence. “This SOUTHSIDE project has been one them things that just comes together so easily and natural,” Raz tells XXL. “The homie Jay Park randomly hit me up and asked if I wanted to mob to his show. So I pulled up and this nigga had lines around the block of excited fans and this was his first ever Seattle show. He came right out, got me and we sat down and chopped it. Real ass dude and humble as fuck. We relate back and fourth so after the first day we knew we had work. Next time we hopped on the phone and decided we needed a whole project and not just a song. Both are shit so versatile so this project is goin all over the place but doing it comfortably. Shit fire and we’re excited.” In the meantime catch Raz on tour with Macklemore.
