Date of birth: 4 May 1980 Position: Forward Current Club: Grenoble (FRA) Forward Masashi Oguro is one of the brightest prospects within the Japanese national team, having netted three times in just four FIFA World Cup qua- lifiers, including crucial goals against North Korea and Iran. Also netted the winner against Greece at the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup, his only major tournament to date. His breakthrough came in the 2004 season, when he netted 20 times for Gamba Osaka, the club where he developed as a youth.
