跑去巴西丙級聯賽隊伍 Boavista Sport Club 跟轉職撲克牌選手排在前二位...... Top 10: Bad Vieri career moves http://www.football-italia.net/topten/vierimoves.html 前言: Going through 15 clubs in 18 years, becoming a poker player and signing for a Third Division Brazilian side, Christian Vieri made some odd decisions 本文: 10. Moving to Inter (1999) Some may say this can't have been a bad career move. After all, he shattered the world transfer record for the third time in as many years, spent a huge – by his standards – six campaigns with the same club and scored 123 goals. For all that, Bobo was never particularly happy. He didn't get on with management, lost another title on the last day of the season and in all that time won a lone Coppa Italia. Vieri rescinded his contract by mutual agreement to become a free agent and "save" Inter the cost of his wages. It seemed generous… 9. Using his right foot (2002) In his prime, few could beat Vieri in the air or with his powerful and precise left foot. Put the ball on his right and a toddler could dispossess him. Even inanimate objects seemed to have the upper hand, as millions of incredulous Azzurri fans learned when watching him balloon over the bar from six yards against South Korea. 8. Joining Milan (2005) Surely the point at which his entire career imploded, Vieri stunned everybody by crossing the San Siro divide to wear the Milan jersey. Suddenly Inter saw the act of generosity to be a vicious stab in the back and he received sackfuls of hate mail from furious fans. After six years of rivalry, the Rossoneri supporters didn't particularly welcome him either, especially when he managed only eight appearances, one goal and several injuries in his six-month stint. 7. Moving to Monaco (2006) Somehow believing he could still earn his place in the World Cup squad – how different history might've been in Berlin – Vieri pushed for a loan to Monaco. His third European League experience was no Liga triumph, as the ageing hitman sustained a serious injury two months into his French sojourn and limped away with three goals from seven games. 6. Samp travesty (2006) Still recovering from his injury, Bobo returned to Italy and was hailed as the saviour of Sampdoria, the man who could bring experience to this rebuilt team. Some sources don't even put the Blucerchiati on his CV, as Vieri signed a one-year deal, didn't train with the rest of the squad and within two weeks had torn up the contract. Maybe it was a whim or he penned the paperwork in the middle of a lost weekend. We'll never know. 5. Atalanta Pt 1 (2006) Newly-promoted Atalanta decided to take a risk and employ the itinerant striker, although cleverly wrote out his contract so that his wages were tied to the number of appearances. He signed in August 2006 and did not make his debut for the Orobici until April 17, 2007. 4. Fiorentina (2007) How did Vieri repay Atalanta for nursing him back to health? He dumped them and signed for the more prestigious Fiorentina on a free transfer. Yet more injuries, misses and a rapidly expanding waistline saw the 34-year-old reduced largely to the role of substitute, nonetheless amassing six Serie A goals. His Viola experience ended when he missed the decisive penalty in the UEFA Cup semi-final shoot-out against Glasgow Rangers. 3. Atalanta redux (2008) Unwanted in Tuscany and still not ready to retire, Vieri headed back to Bergamo and the still furious Atalanta fans. This would be his third stint at the club after a brief spell in his long-ago youth, but this time he was greeted by jeers, insults and the aura of failure. At least he lived down to those expectations by spending most of the season on the treatment table and managing a pitiful two goals in nine games. He didn’t even see his contract out to the end of June and walked away on April 1, 2009. 2. Poker face (2009) Having gone through 15 clubs in 18 years, Vieri desperately tried to get himself signed by a Brazilian club. When even that failed, he decided to embark on a whole new career and declared he was to become a professional poker player. It was a job that gave him everything he could ask for – money, attention and the chance to sit down. 1. Boavista (2009) Was that the end of Bobo's journey? The man who just wouldn't retire got his boots back on after six months of inactivity when a Brazilian club finally answered his calls. The fact Boavista are in the Third Division didn't seem to matter, as he received $50,000 per month, a personal chauffeur and an apartment on the beach. If he wanted the Carioca lifestyle why couldn't he just buy it and save himself the indignity of wobbling around the pitch against a succession of teenage sheet-metal workers? --
