Iverson met with doctors at Georgetown University Wednesday, still complaining of pain in his back. "He's going to get tested again Thursday and Friday, two more tests," coach Michael Curry said. "Then we will see where he's at." If, best-case scenario, Iverson should get cleared to return to practice Saturday, it would take at least a week for him to get back into some semblance of basketball shape. On doctor's orders, he's had no basketball-related activity since Feb. 26. If you figure in the week of practice, then the earliest Iverson could return would be March 31 at Cleveland. But even that is an extremely optimistic guess. At that point, the Pistons would have just nine regular-season games left. "That will be on Arnie (Kander, Pistons' physical therapist)," Curry said. "Once he's cleared to practice, then we will wait and when Arnie says he's good to go, then he'll go -- as many days as that takes." Curry was asked if there was a cut-off point where the Pistons would just shut Iverson down for the rest of the year. "That ain't my call," he said. "That one is over my pay grade." Scott Perry, Pistons vice president of basketball, said the team had no further comment on Iverson's status.
