Vedran Corluka believes a bit of luck and a win is all it will take to turn our season around at the moment. The defender believes we were unfortunate not to take all three points in our 0-0 draw with Wigan Athletic on Sunday. And although the big Croatian concedes the lads are disappointed with the winless start to our league season, he has assured fans that the determination is there among players. Vedran, affectionately known as ‘Charlie' among team-mates, said: "Everyone expected the win on Sunday, but unfortunately we only took a point. "We worked hard and I thought we were unlucky, but if we keep doing that the results will come. The team is too good to be bottom of the league. "The confidence isn't the highest at the moment, but I'm sure once we get wins under our belt, things will change. "But we have no time to wait for something to happen. We need a win another win as soon as possible in whatever way we can get it. "It doesn't matter what competition we win in, so we will be giving 100 per cent against Newcastle in the Carling Cup on Wednesday." Sunday's game was Vedran's second in our colours following his transfer deadline day switch from Manchester City. "Everything is still new to me but I'm settling in," he added.
