新聞來源 - Sky Sports Poyet bemoans Spurs display Tottenham No.2 Gus Poyet felt it was a game of two halves as Spurs drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough at White Hart Lane. Spurs went ahead through Jonathon Grounds' own goal and deserved their lead at the break but Boro were the better side after the interval and levelled through Stewart Downing's deflected shot. "I think we played very good first-half and we were in control of the game," Poyet told Sky Sports. "Second half, we weren't as happy and that is the story of the game, we played well one half and didn't play well the other, but the opposition played well, they pushed, so 1-1 is a fair result. "The problem we have, as soon as we go 1-0 up we cannot finish the game off and score the second. Every team will put you under pressure and they came forward and created us problems. We didn't play well in the second half but we had a great first half." Poyet feels the Spurs players to think about the game more. "We didn't understand the game in the second half, in terms of how far from our goal we need to defend, how much you need to keep the ball and when you have to play direct. "We are not saying we play long ball but every now and then you need to just to squeeze up and play in their half and that understanding is what we are missing," he said. Poyet was happy to single out defender Michael Dawson for praise after he put in an outstanding display. "It was Michael at his best and he saved us a few times as they were in great positions to score but he went there and put his body in front, so we are very pleased," he added. Later Ramos added his own thoughts: "Possibly the lack of importance of the points at the moment meant the players dropped their guard a little. "All the players have had their opportunities, they have all been used at some point when I've made substitutions and they've all had their chances. "We always want to produce the best performance possible but you have to understand the situation the team is in. "We are in the middle of the table, the points aren't excessively important - we can't reach the top part of the table and we don't seem to be in danger.
