The Brazilian forward has been the subject of on-going speculation and had looked certain to move away from Stade Gerland. Paris St Germain, Tottenham, Portsmouth and Middlesbrough had all been suggested as possible destinations for Fred. But after PSG dropped their interest in the striker, Fred announced that he wanted to stay and fight for his place in Alain Perrin's side. He said: "I'm staying. I hope to regain my top level and to give the best of myself to the team. "I'm not going to talk about transfers any more. From this moment I'm 100 per cent here focused on my work. "I know it won't be easy. I've talked to Marino Faccioli (administrative director) and the coach. "I want to stay here at Lyon.
