新聞來源 - BBC Blues likely to miss out on Mido Birmingham boss Steve Bruce is confident of signing Tottenham midfielder Hossam Ghaly, but his hopes of landing team-mate Mido are fading. Bruce hopes by the weekend he will have made the 25-year-old Ghaly his eighth capture of the summer. But having agreed a 6m fee with Spurs for Mido, the Blues have failed to meet the 24-year-old's wage demands. Bruce tried to sign Mido on loan, but Spurs want a permanent deal after spending 16m on Darren Bent. The Blues boss wants Egyptian forward Mido to supplement his current strike force of Olivier Kapo, Garry O'Connor, Cameron Jerome, Rowan Vine and Mikael Forssell. If Bruce fails to land Mido, he will continue his pursuit of a striker to provide as many attacking options as possible. Bruce is also keen to bolster his defence and is interested in taking Arsenal's Johan Djourou on loan. He said: "I've not spoken to Arsenal for a while about Djourou but we will see where we are.
