Martin Jol was happy that the team opened the Vodacom Challenge with a win over Kaizer Chiefs in Durban on Saturday afternoon. Goals from Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov either side of a Shaun Bartlett header secured the victory, although Martin said it is now a case of attempting to regain good habits over the pre-season period. "The thing is, in this sort of tournament, you have to win and want to win," reasoned the manager. "In the first half we did well and denied them space, the only thing is that we have to get our good habits back. With them playing a high back four every ball is dangerous, but we got caught offside a number of times. "We should have punished them but didn't really do that and we should have played more down the flanks and changed play. Their midfield was pretty crowded so there was no space, but I thought it was a pretty good work out. "In the second half I tried it with Robbie and the two strikers, which worked for us and Darren made a great run from a fine ball from Phil Ifil, who was playing out of position. It was a good assist, Darren used the space and we scored a good goal through Dimitar. "It was a great occasion, it is my first time here and the supporters created a superb atmosphere which made it a very good experience for the young players" added Martin, who reported that Younes Kaboul was forced off in the opening minutes after suffering a broken front tooth.
