An own goal from Steed Malbranque and a cool finish from Fredi Kanoute extended Sevilla's aggregate lead to 4-1 with less than eight minutes on the clock. Tottenham battled back and dominated the second half, but goals from Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon were not enough to prevent Sevilla from reaching the Uefa Cup semi-finals. "They rocked us, they shocked us," Jol told ITV1. "They're a good team. They were the team of the year last year but I still feel we would've had a bigger chance if we don't give away goals like we did for the first one. "We tend to give away this season cheap goals." After watching Middlesbrough's incredible Uefa Cup campaign last season, Jol insists he never lost belief that his side could come back. "At half-time we said we have to go out with pride. It could have been a Middlesbrough story. "The second half we won, we beat them 2-0. We still should've scored the third one. "We went out of it with our heads held high." Sevilla will face Osasuna in the last four, while Espanyol will face the last remaining side from outside of Spain, Werder Bremen, in the other semi-final. "It says a lot about the strength of Spanish football that we have three clubs in the semi-finals," said Sevilla coach Juande Ramos.
