新聞來源 - BBC Crowd trouble mars Tottenham tie Uefa is poised to investigate after crowd trouble broke out during Thursday night's Uefa Cup quarter-final first leg between Sevilla and Tottenham. Riot police were needed to separate both sets of supporters outside the Spanish club's ground before kick-off. And less than half an hour into the match, trouble erupted in the enclosure housing 4,000 travelling Spurs fans. Unconfirmed reports said seven Tottenham fans and one policeman had been taken to hospital. The scenes echoed clashes between fans and police in the Manchester United's Champions League tie on Wednesday. Uefa communications director William Gaillard, who was present at that match, said: "Any incidents of crowd trouble in the Sevilla against Tottenham match will be investigated by Uefa. "We will study the reports from the referee and the Uefa match delegate." Extra riot police were drafted into the Sevilla stadium in a bid to bring the situation under control. Seats and punches were thrown as the Spurs fans clashed with the police during the first half. The trouble continued into the half-time interval at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium. Around 15-20 riot police moved in as more seats - and punches - were thrown.
