The tenacious tackler has been strongly linked with a January move after failing to hold down a regular spot under Martin Jol and the player's lawyer Robert Geerlings has now confirmed that an 18-month deal has already been agreed between Davids and the Dutch giants. Davids now looks set to return to the Amsterdam ArenA for the first time since 1996, if the two clubs can come to an agreement over a transfer fee for the experienced performer. Ajax boss Henk ten Cate denied any interest in Davids in December, but is now prepared to spend some of the €2.5million (1.65million) generated by Marcus Rosenberg's sale to Werder Bremen to land the Spurs man.
