Dawson: We'll win soon Michael Dawson has urged the Tottenham squad to stand firm after a disappointing start to the new Premiership season. After narrowly missing out on a place in the UEFA Champions League last term, hopes were high that Spurs could gatecrash the top four this time around. But Martin Jol's men have scored in just one of their five league games and were held to a frustrating 0-0 home draw by Fulham on Sunday. Jol has called for patience as he waits for his new team to gel and centre half Dawson is confident a show of unity will help Spurs to turn the corner. "The problem at the moment is getting the ball in the back of the net, but we're keeping clean sheets and if we stick together we'll hopefully get a win," said Dawson. "We believe a win will come. It's only a problem if we're not creating chances, but we do create them and I'm sure we'll get a few goals. "Once we get the first win, more will follow. Last year we had a great start, but this year it hasn't been the case. "But there's a long way to go until the end of the season and a lot of points to play for, so hopefully we can start picking them up. "The Premiership is our bread and butter and we had such a good season last year that we want to do it again." Jermaine Jenas, scorer of one of Spurs' two league goals this term, echoed Dawson's sentiments and believes the team will soon convert the chances being created. The midfielder said: "It is frustrating to see chances go begging. Every one you see someone hit you're thinking 'please, give us that break', because I'm sure we'd go on and score a few more.
