Ghaly committed to Spurs Hossam Ghaly has dismissed suggestions that he is unhappy in London, but did admit that he was disappointed to see Mido leave Tottenham. The midfielder joined Spurs from Feyenoord during the January transfer window, but failed to make an appearance last term due to a string of niggling injuries. It had been suggested that Ghaly had grown disillusioned in London, but the midfielder is champing at the bit to start pre-season training and make an impression under Martin Jol. "This is totally untrue, fabrication at its best," Ghaly told EgyptianPlayers.com when questioned on reports he had become unsettled in London. Ghaly is determined to make an impact in London and believes he will benefit from not rushing his return to action. "I was injured for quite some time and needed time to get back to fitness," he added. "Everybody knew that it would have been unwise to rush me back into competitive games before I am totally ready. "I will start the pre-season training with the lads just like everybody else." Jol is regarded as one of the best coaches in The Premiership and Ghaly is eager to learn from the Dutch tactician. "I can't wait to play under his command," enthused Ghaly. "We deserved a Champions League spot this season and lots of credit should go to him. "Throughout my time in London he has been encouraging me to regain my fitness, which I have done." Ghaly will not get the chance to line up alongside his international team-mate Mido after Spurs decided not to turn his loan move from Roma into a permanent arrangement. The Egyptian admits he was disappointed to see Mido leave, but will not let it affect his own game. "I have always wanted to play with Mido at a European club," he admitted. "We could have done so well for the team. We've played a lot together for Egypt and we are close friends on and off the pitch. "Mido's performances with Spurs were of a high standard because he is a player of high calibre, but I am not going to comment on the manager's decision not to go for him in the market. "Mido wanted to stay with the team.
