Belgium leads at 3-1 with the doubles match a muted point for the berth into the semi-finals to be played in July It was a cavaliar performance today in the context that Justine lost to Elena recently in March at Indian Wells. That hardcourt encounter was a long weary battle of three sets which went close to the three hour mark. In front of her long time fans, and countrymen Justine gave them more than they could imagine. The first set featured a very fired up Justine not retreating against the heavy duty groundstrokes of the Russian. She held serve, and broke Elena with ease. Unlike the hardcourt match back in the USA, Justine was able to wield her magical ways with all court tennis. She was on top of the Russian's machine gun delievery of groundstrokes, and crafted winning shots in a huge array of flavours. Justine won the first set with sleek confidence to the approval of her nation 6-2. The second set was all Justine, and that was what everyone in Belgium came to see. Slices, drop shots, and dazzle 1-handed backhands; it was quick cut video highlight tennis. Dementieva wasn't playing poorly, but she had trouble regaining hermomentum after lost games. Justine on the other hand was determined to make amends for losing match points in their previous battle. The Belgian didn't give an inch, and won the second set 6-0.
