Kuo Won't Start
Hong-Chih Kuo was not considered for the Saturday start despite the
left-handed long reliever having struck out 51 batters in 43 innings this
season and compiling a 1.88 ERA.
Kuo earned his first hold Wednesday, and Torre doesn't feel now is the time
to return him to his roots as a starting pitcher. That is due to a recent
inability to locate his off-speed pitches rather than any concern regarding
an elbow that has undergone four operations.
"A lot of the stuff is hard, hard, hard," Torre said. "He needs the ability
to throw soft."
Kuo, who has maintained that he doesn't have a preference for either starting
or coming out of the bullpen, said he has adjusted better this season to a
relief role and needed less time to warm up than he did in previous years.
這邊提到了小小郭不能先發的理由....
是因為小小郭對於off-speed的掌控還有問題??
Orz....難怪昨天都一直丟fastball.....
