Over the last five years, government revenues from sales taxes have grown : no faster in the towns with restaurant smoking restrictions than in the towns : that have no such restrictions. : 答案D : 想請問高手，題目是問弱化政府的政策嗎? : undermines the defense of the government's plan? : 但D我的解讀是支持政府 : 因為只有說很多禁煙的地方餐廳經營的方式把吸菸區獨立出來 : 沒有說到跟營收有相關阿，如果可以延伸說：就算有禁菸罰則， : 餐廳照樣可以經營不影響營收哩， 這邊的延伸有點問題，政府說的禁菸是全面禁菸，但他提出的例子卻是部分禁菸而已 所以，例子裡面提到的增加營收，並沒有辦法證明政府說營收會增加，我認為這兩者的 關係根本就是irrelevant。 : 這樣解釋：有禁菸不會導致收入變少←變支持政府， : 就不對啦，請求協助 : 卡在這題很久暸@@ : 謝謝 我的理解 這題之前也卡了很久... 題意: V 政府要全面對餐廳執行禁菸的政策 反對的人說:執行這個政策會讓所有餐廳營收下降 政府說: 執行這項政策會讓餐廳營收下降是不切實際的(ill-founded)，意思就是 政府認為執行這項政策並不會影響餐廳的營收。 政府提出一個例子，五年前就有勇者餐廳先執行這項政策，而且繳給政府的稅 居然增加的居然比其他地方還要多(34% to 26% )，而繳的稅與營收成正比，因此 執行這項政策並不會造成反對人所說的結果，反而會增加餐廳的營收。 問: undermine政府的狡辯 D 先執行禁煙政策的餐廳，其實是把非吸菸區獨立出來，就是還有可以吸菸的區域 因此直接推翻了政府狡辯的例子，因為之前執行這項政策的餐廳，其實還是有吸菸區的 至於為什麼繳的稅會增加的比較多，我個人認為是因為多了非吸菸區，可以吸引更 多的消費者來消費，造成營收增加，當然這部分是我的推論。 其實只要找到能夠推翻政府提出的例子，就可以選D了。 參考一下吧 --
