791. The number of undergraduate degrees in engineering awarded by colleges
and universities in the United States increased by more than twice from 1978
to 1985.
(A) increased by more than twice
(B) increased more than two times
(C) more than doubled
(D) was more than doubled
(E) had more than doubled
ANS : C
A. increased by more than twice
increased by 表示增加了多少
當初刪 是覺得 increased by more than twice 句意怪怪的 但我不知道是詞性的問題
還是 根本沒有這種用法
B. 請問 如果選項改成 increased more than twice 這樣是否就對了呢?
C.D 一起看
D使用被動 這邊用主動即可 所以刪
C 我可以接受 但 more 在這邊的詞性是做副詞修飾doubled嗎?
不知道為什麼一直覺得 more than doubled double 用作動詞怪怪的....
補個我所知道 double 用作動詞的用法
double in size/number/value etc
Within two years the company had doubled in size.
The church has doubled its membership in the last five years.
double the size/number/amount etc (of something)
A promise was given to double the number of police on duty.
麻煩各位指點一下迷津 我知道這個問題可能有點基本...orz
