From then on, Tipsarevic grew in confidence as Murray, who was given a code violation for foul language during the first-set tie-break, seemed to fight an internal battle as the match slipped away. He muttered, yelled and whacked the net with his racquet, while Tipsarevic produced some authentic serve-and-volley tennis to overpower his young opponent ranked 69 places above him in the world. Murray said: "There's no point living in the past and I have to think positively. I know I played well at Wimbledon last year and I know I can play well on grass. "I'm ranked in the world top 50 and I'm only 19 so I'm not worrying about things right now. I just have to win some tighter matches and play more consistently. "Last year wasn't easy for me because I was very nervous and it was all pretty new to me. Now there is a bit more expected of me because I did so well." Murray is still without a coach after firing Mark Petchey in April and has been tentatively linked to American Brad Gilbert as part of a joint initiative with the Lawn Tennis Association. "I am obviously still looking for someone and it is not the easiest to find," said Murray. "I think after Wimbledon and before Cincinnati and Toronto I should have found a coach by then.
