Thompson was sidelined from Saturday night's nationally televised 120-117 win against the Philadelphia 76ers, thrusting Alfonzo McKinnie into the starting lineup in his place. The long-range sniper had played in 61 of 62 games prior to his injury, concurrent with his reputation as an NBA iron man. His return to the starting lineup will be based on how quickly he regains the range of motion in his knee, an injury this championship-hopeful team is expected to take with utmost care as Golden State trots out the final 19 games of the regular season. Thompson has rebounded from a shockingly slow start to the season to making this the second-best scoring campaign of his eight-year career, averaging 22 points per game and nearing the 40 percent mark on 3-point shooting for the eighth straight season after starting out shooting in the low 30s. The 6-foot-7 Washington State product was missed on both ends of the court, as his stellar perimeter defense was sorely missed on Saturday as the Sixers connected on 14-of-31 from beyond the arc.
