老尼的小球戰術會讓球賽變的很好看，可讓球隊的戰績不是很好看 雖然強調"進攻再進攻"，可不爭的事實是:要贏最實在的還是"防守" 球有投不進的時候，可防守不用看運氣，只要做的夠扎實就能反敗為勝(像是馬刺) 國外有篇是關於改善勇士的７個方法: Step 1: Fire Don Nelson and eat the remaining $15 million or so on his deal. He was the right coach for Davis' team. But Baron is gone. Now Nelson is an albatross. Nothing moves forward until he's gone. 第一步:炒掉老尼。對於BD的球隊他是最佳的教練人選，可是BD已經去了快艇。 Step 2: Hire Keith Smart as the interim coach and see what happens. He'll play Wright and Randolph and he'll probably get the Warriors approximating some version of defense. 第二步:聘請Keith Smart擔任代理教練，然後靜觀其變。至少他會讓A.軟豆腐 以及B.Wright能夠發揮，大概也能將勇士的防守帶向另一個層面。 Step 3: If Smart won't start Wright or Randolph, or Wright and Randolph, then hire somebody who will. If the Warriors are going to lose, it's useless to lose without getting both young forwards plenty of experience. 第三步:如果K.Smart不讓軟豆腐或是Wright先發，請一個會讓他們先發的。 就算勇士戰績持續低迷，也至少讓這兩個年輕的鋒線球員吸收點經驗。 Step 4: Come to a quick compromise with Monta Ellis, who probably should be traded by February (if he's healthy) just to dump his contract and get him out of Rowell's hair. 第四步:盡快跟M.Ellis妥協，在他健康的情況下交易出去(如果他健康的話) Ellis and Rowell probably can't coexist, and Marco Belinelli, Jamal Crawford, Watson, Kelenna Azubuike, Jackson and Corey Maggette fill up the backcourt, anyway. Hold on to Maggette until he can be handed back to the Clippers in a year or so.
