※ 引述《dream1124 ()》之銘言： : 這陣子不分長短債券、公債或企業債都伴隨股票一起大跌，債券 ETF 連帶受其影響， : 一再大跌。 : 不知道跟我一樣藉由持續買入全股票市場指數 ETF 和投等債債券市場指數 ETF : 建構長期投資組合的人看了以後有何感想？ 我想回到 modern portfolio theory 來談這件事 在 MPT 架構下 債券可能有兩種角色: 1.作為risk-free asset，根據各自的風險承受度選取跟 tangency asset 混合的比例 2.作為 two risky assets 中的其中一支，跟股票組成efficient frontier https://tinyurl.com/bdfupmh3 === 1.作為 risk-free asset 所謂risk-free asset，是指在特定 investment horizon 時 risk-free 的 asset。 現金在短期內是 risk-free asset 但對於一個 investment horizon 是 10年的投資者 持有現金有很高的風險，10年期treasury才是 risk-free asset 如果你有確定且單一的 investment horizon risk-free asset 其實很簡單 使用固定期限的債券也很合適 問題是大多數人的 investment horizon都不是非常確定 在這種狀況下，使用債券梯比起債券ETF並沒有特別顯著的優點 對於 risk-free asset 的另一個可能的想法是: John Cochrane: "For long term investor, (inflation) indexed perpetuities are the risk-free asset." 但是 inflation indexed perpetuities 目前並不存在 只好用一些 compromised 的方法處理 用TIPS ETF，或者nominal bond ETF，或其他方式 各有優缺點，端看個人選擇 === 2.作為 two risky assets 中的其中一支，跟股票組成efficient frontier 在這個角色上，債券本來就是 risky asset 股債齊跌本來就是可能的 理論並無法明確指出特定的duration 或 convexity 會是最佳選項 那在沒有明顯答案時，使用全市場債券不失為一種可行的選項 John Cochrane: "The average-investor theorem is powerful, because portfolio theory is hard. ...if you know that you are no different than the average— or if you do not really know you are different and how—you are done, you know the answer. " === 如果你非常了解自己的investment horizon, risk averse... 且能更好的估計time-varying means and covariances of asset returns and state variables, alphas, and betas... 自行打造更適合自己的portfolio組合或許是可能的 Whether it's true is up to you to decide. -- You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, Know when to walk away and know when to run.
