標題[請益] 關於申請itin的資格（無關退稅）

小弟有在TD購買有配息的美股，
開戶有填w8-ben，配息被扣30%
這些都沒問題，
因為常須往來台美，
受限沒有ssn，
要申請美國門號和信用卡都極不方便，
上個月去了美國Citibank要辦卡，
他們建議我先取得itin就會幫我送件。
在花了一點時間研究各方大神網誌和IRS官網，
大多都是在討論退稅的議題，
可是我報稅的目的不是為了退稅，
而僅單純為取得ITIN，
目前還找不到我想問的問題的答案，
只好在這邊請教各位前輩。
如果明年二月我收到券商寄來的1042-S,
然後我依IRS的規定填具1042-NR，
連同其他必要文件寄去申請ITIN，
即便最後的結果是不用另外報稅，
請問這樣有辦法取得ITIN嗎？
