SIPC does cover foreign currency, but it does not cover Non-US stocks. If you had a claim with IB for Non-US securities, Lloyds of London insurance would be applied. Lloyds of London insurance covers the equivalent value of $29.5 Million US Dollars, in any currency or any security that is offered at IB, globally.
