標題[問題] SIPC的保障

第四頁第二段，
If sufficient funds are not available in the firm's customer accounts to
satisfy claims within these limits, the reserve funds of SIPC are used to
supplement the distribution, up to a ceiling of $500,000 per customer,
including a maximum of $250,000 for cash claims.
關於這段話，想請問，「每位投資人保障最高50萬美金，其中現金最高為25萬美金」，
是什麼意思？
因為同一段的開頭已經提到，所有登記在名下的證券，都會立即歸還給投資人，因此，
這50萬美金，不就是指通貨的意思嗎？或者，還有其它形式的歸還嗎？
