有人以為“神的兒子們”是墮落的天使，這並不可信，因為天使並不嫁娶，
也不生兒育女（參太22:30；可12:25）。有些學者相信這句話是指塞特的後裔，
他們與該隱的邪惡後裔（“人的女子”）通婚，這會減弱忠信之人的影響，
並且使道德越來越敗壞，最後變成邪惡的世界。
