I'd read 7 books from her work collection, and "The Pact," in fact my very first Picoult's novel, and "Plain Truth" are my two favorites, followed by 19 minutes, My Sister's Keeper, and Vanishing Acts. If you like 19 Minutes, I think you will like The Pact, too. "Plain Truth" deals with the conflict between Amish culture and the western civilization. When I read "Plain Truth", I was a foreign student in the US, and I certainly felt deeply about the struggles the Amish protagonist had to face. Mercy (named from mercy killing) is good, too, but I don't like some of the subplots. "Chage of Heart" is my least favorite, for the reasons that it's very similar to the movie "the Green Mile" and the story is kind of predictable-- through half the book I already figured out what happened to her dead daughter and her husband. After this one, I decided to stay away from her collection for a while. Take a break, I guess. By the way, if you'd read 姐姐的守護者， I would suggest you read its English version again, at least the prologue, and think about Picoult's first question on the discussion list.
