Oh, and in my : opinion, this book is a little harder than Hemingway's "The Old Man and Sea" : in terms of English requirements. Let me think: I first read this book in 1999. : And I still has some trouble during that time, even though that's my 3rd year : in US. Anne of the green gables is also one of my favorite books; I feel that it's one of those classics that you can get something out of everytime you read it. While growing up, Anne was one of the heronines that I looked up to the most.I guess the part that interested me the most is how she was so extraordinary while being so ordinary. And this has helped me a lot in that I realized that even in everyday things I can find truth and beauty. As for Old Man and sea, I didn't feel as related to the characters as I did with Anne of the green gables. Maybe it was because I read it at such a yong age.
