"It is a great day for me," said Pique in a statement relayed by Marca. "The truth is that I do not see myself wearing another shirt. I hope to be here for many years. I want to be here for the rest of my career." Pique also praised his coach Pep Guardiola to whom he was very grateful for all the faith he had shown in him.
