News daily Sport claimed earlier today that Laporta would be asked by his own board of directors to step down during a meeting scheduled for Thursday. Although Laporta has denied these reports, stressing that he is not thinking about stepping down, he has not ruled out submitting his resignation as it will depend on the opinion of the members of the board. "I have no intention of quitting and, in fact, as I said in due time, we are legitimized to continue, the board will meet this Thursday and I want to talk to the members," he said.
