標題[Ask ] Tips for teaching writing?
時間Tue May 18 02:08:51 2010
I'm wondering if anyone browsing this board is an English teacher or tutor.
I need some help creating a lesson plan for a 6th grade kid.
I'm supposed to start this weekend, so any help is greatly appreciated.
I'm responsible for teaching writing, and according to the mom I think the
kid's pretty good with English already- she finished all 4 of Stephanie Myer's
Twilight series and is starting with The Lightning Thief series.
So the one clue I have is that she likes to read. ORZ
I'm trying to recall what my middle school teachers did for writing class.
I don't think I learned much about writing in middle school though~
Mostly just grammar structure and sentence formation > <
I still shudder when I read my own writing from 9th grade, haha~
Such a big difference 4 years of high school english has made on my writing.
Please give me some ideas~
Should I go along with what she's reading and ask for character descriptions?
I was originally thinking about getting her into creative writing, and just
assigning a new topic everytime~ but I don't know if her level is up to it yet
*sigh* I hope my first lesson goes well~ I haven't read Twilingt, haha, only
saw the movies and thought Bella was too dependent on guys = =
I need suggestions please!
