標題[Ask ] What's the difference between "peer" and "colleague"?

It's about my questionnaire translation for my thesis.
I've checked the meaning of "peer" and "colleague" in dictionary, and they
both mean "同事" or "同僚" in chinese.
But in my questionnaire, there is a sentence "Our employees engage in informal
sharing and exchange of market-related information with peers or colleagues
within the organization." put both peer and colleague together, so I'd like to
ask what's the difference between these two words.
