Here is a passage titled "A Foolish Monkey" and followed a
question. It's from a reading exercise. I can't figure it
out, but want to get the answer. Hope you guys can give me
some ideas. Thanks a lot!!!
A monkey sat in a a tree one day and watched a carpenter
cutting wood in the forest. The carpenter would split a log
almost in a half, and then put a stone into the split to keep
the two halves of the log apart.
When the carpenter went home to lunch, the monkey came
down from the tree. "I wonder what would happen if I took the
stone out of the log?" he said. He pulled out the stone. Snap!
went the log. It was quicker than the foolish monkey.
What do you think happened to the monkey?
ps. This is my first time to post here, if there're any problems
about the topic, please inform me to correct.
