hello~~everyone~~~My name is Derek!! I've constantly been visiting this board as a subroutine of my daily life.. the purpose is for nothing but to "enjoy" profound articles posted by boardmates and at the same time also try to learn some writing skills and ways of thinking that might help write good essays from these articles!! As a matter of fact,I won't be afraid of speaking English to people at all.. I actually "enjoy" speaking English to people despite unavoidable grammatical problems which is always bothering me that still needs to be overcome by my hard work. but as for the writing, I just found it difficult to dominate it as I do in my speaking.In addition to the lack of confidence, poor writing training and not knowing plenty of vocabulary also restrain my writing skill from getting progress. Looking into the articles I've made so far,people will be easy to find out that my articles are all composed of simple words and basic structures that may make English professionals such as most boardmates here feel bored to read them!!! That's also the main reason why I dare not to post any articles here despite constant visit here. But I've just decided to "break the silence" to try a post here and be well prepared to accept any possible sharp criticisms from boardmates. The following is a small essay that I tried to post here as my first post on this board. --------------------------------------------------------- With only one week left away from the end of student life,I started feeling anxious caused by mountains of pressures and uncertainties that has been tangling with me. It's also the first time that I did feel such a strong sense of urgency abt my future life, especially under the crrent circumstances of global economic downturn!! Having been broadcasting almost in everyday headlines, the news of impacts of this economic downturn on people all over the world has shaken every family's everyday life with the drastic incresed number of workers being laid off due to apparent revenue loss posed by industries. This "flow of laying off" seems to be contagious that quickly spread around the world, there hasn't been any signs of easing the situation!!!! This crisis said to be unprecedented since the Great Depression not only hugely affected all the labors and work force but triggered fears for the students who are abt to graduate from school and become a "job-seeker". It is well predicted that the swarm of needs for jobs will only worsen this already suffering highly unemployed society!!! In short, I think we have no time to be afraid or to worry abt the external environment that we barely can do anything to change it. Instead,we have to show our own characteristics in addition to ur working ability so as to compete with others in this fierce battleground (not as less intense as the Israel-Palestinian War...)
