The show has been run for 4 seasons (some people argued 3 seasons) so far and it has been rated 9.3 from IMDB which is quite impressive. I strongly encourage people to download this show from torrent spy or any web site. The show could be very difficult for Taiwan even non-California residents to understand since many words and terms that they use are not typical textbooks, but it is a very interesting show. Just a quick preview, Entourage is a show about this actor named Vincent Chase & his lifestyle with his entourage: Eric (shorten E, his business manager), Turtle ( …kind of like his house keeper & asskisser), and Johnny Drama (his half brother & TV actor). Of course, Vincent’s agent, Ari Gold is my favorite. How come a Hollywood lifestyle TV show could impact me so much? I will break it down to 3 categories: 1. Vincent Chase’s charisma 2. Ari Gold’s aggressive 3. Hollywood Lifestyle Vincent Chase’s charisma… It is hard to explain that why all the ladies love Vincent Chase, maybe his eyes, maybe his hair, or his style. However, I think that it is his free-spirit characteristic. He seems to not care about many things, but have a good idea about what he wants to do. He is willing to take a risk to gamble his career away for some projects that he is truly passionate of. After watching TV shows, I realized that I have more and more respect toward to Vincent. If I was Vincent, I would not throw away million dollars project to do uncertain things. I could not have his “Oh well, we can always go back to New York” attitude if I am on my top of career. However, I do realize that I am willing to take tasks more after the show since I truly believe Vincent’s “if we don’t do it now, we will regard the rest of our life” attitude. In fact, I move from Chicago to California because of his inspiration. Not because of Disneyland, it is because that I want to do something meaningful for my life by taking a risk to give up my steady Chicago job & moving to uncertain California. Ari Gold aggressive… Ari is probably my favorite character of the entire show. He is a great agent but also could frustrate people with his asshole attitude and “winner-take-all” mentality. Since moving from Chicago to California, I met more and more people are like Ari Gold, an outstanding business man who is only willing to talk to you if you are or have something valuable for him. I catch myself to pick up this attitude more after the show. In a positive way, I do things way much more efficient. I am no longer to take 15 minutes for introduction at beginning of the meeting. No bull shtting, no how is your family doing crap, just strictly business and “ say what you wanna say”. Many of my clients admire my new-found attitude. In a negative way, I am using this manor outside of work also. My friends have complained to me that I tended to cut the conversation short or even finish other’s sentence since I already know what they want to say. Oh well, I guess that not everything is perfect in this world. Hollywood Lifestyle… I have to admit that I do try to follow Entourage footsteps. From Playboy Mansion to crazy Vegas fun weekends, I get to experience something that not many Taiwanese even Americans would have a chance to go through. It is interesting to see outside visitors to rush to Disneyland, Universal Studio, and China Theater when they come to LA when I consider those places are truly overrated. For me, I am more interested in naked sushi, Miyaki, and Le Petit Four on Sunset Blvd; a social-shock lesson after Playboy Mansion. I truly believe that “work hard and play harder”. I also believe that “experience is priceless”. I do not understand that visitors are trying to save that few $$$ when they are out traveling. You should do all your study at home, when you are out traveling, just enjoy your time and worry about money issue later. Of course, you have to worry about your budget, but as long as you can get home in one piece… you are fine. That is why that I am not trying to save $5 for the meal or $50 for the limo. I am paying that experience that I can share the story to many friends …. Which is priceless. I think that it is very hard to explain a show to people especially one related Hollywood lifestyle & not show in Taiwan. But I truly encourage people to watch this show to learn English while learning celebrity lifestyle. I also recommend “The Office”, “How I met your mother”, and “ Lost” for people. --
