Dear all, My name is Michael, and I've been back in Taiwan for almost 2 years. Through my friends in Taiwan, PTT was introduced to me. On PTT, I've found ways to entertain myself when my friends are far away in US. Now, after 2 years of browsing on the web, PTT, and making new friends in Taiwan, I began to ask myself. This English board is great, I came up few times a month reading other people's post, and jokes. However, I realize there are an "x" amount of boardmates whoes currently out of country pursuiting a higher education, or those who graduated from colleges from other country, and came back home. Other then that, we have current students from local universities making few posts from time to time. Sadly, I believe my English have gone worse when I came back to Taiwan, not to imagine those who never gone out of the country, their English ability and skills were practiced through books, radio, and English classes. Therefore, I want to purpose an idea I used to use back in the states. I want to host gathering once a month, and this type of activity will only be host under the English only environmrnt. I've been to few gatherings that's strictly only English. It'll be process like a party style, where people speaks only English, and making new friends. Since this is just a brain storm, I would say the goal I aim for is to get 10 people. Don't matter your age, sex, height or weight. Each of us will prepare a short 2-5 mins of introduction, letting other people know who you are, and what you do. When I have 10 people sign up, I will host the party, and we can all enjoy a good time while making new friends and learning more practical English. (Management Information System) I worked in about 4-5 industries before I settle down to my current job. I used to work in the New Paper Publisher company, a computer company, Insurance Agency, and non-profit organization. I am currently working for an American company that sells Auto parts online.
